R & D:::Exploring Web 2.0 Web 2.0 is a hype that has enormous definitions thereby making it ambiguous. Basically, Web Applications can now run as Desktop Applications. In addition, we can now see attributes of Desktop Applications in Web Applications. Examples include drag-and-drop, auto-complete, and zooming. So the question is what new programming languages have been introduced to achieve these? It has mainly been interaction between two languages namely XML and JavaScript. The interaction is referred to as Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX). ASMICOM has joined the paragon of Web 2.0 developers in a unique way. We are investing heavily in Mozilla Technologies. Mozilla Toolkits such as XPIDL (Cross Platform Interface Definition Language), XPCOM (Cross Platform Component Object Model) and XUL (XML User Interface Language) are currently being studied and we are interacting with Mozilla developers and academics around the globe who spend quality time in these areas. |
